Copyright Policy

Authors retain copyright of their articles and may republish them anywhere provided that TUGKAD is acknowledged as the original place of publication. The published article is not to be published elsewhere within the first twelve (12) months of the article’s initial publication in TUGKAD. 

Authors are required to certify that their articles are entirely their own work, and that the material contained therewith is new and has not, either wholly or substantially in part, been previously published elsewhere. It is the author’s responsibility to obtain permission to quote material from other copyright sources and/or reproduce any images or illustrations. Authors also bear any costs for reproduction permissions and/or the purchase of acceptable print-quality digital versions. Any permissions to reproduce must cover electronic distribution of the work and documentation must be provided to TUGKAD.

TUGKAD provides open access to all content on the standard that making research freely available to the public supports a better exchange of knowledge. Such right to use is associated with increased readership and increased citation of an author’s work.

If any plagiarism is noted, either by the TUGKAD Team in the initial screening, or by our peer reviewers at any stage of the reviewing process before publication, the author will be informed and asked to rewrite the related section or add the necessary citation. If at least 25% of the original submission is plagiarized, the whole article will be rejected. If plagiarism is identified after the journal issue is published, an editorial note will be added to inform readers of the fact, and the author’s employer may be notified of the breach. Our policy aims to both inform our contributors about acceptable and ethical academic publishing practices, and to preserve a very high standard for the articles we publish in TUGKAD.
